About this event
In June 2026, the COMS Project released research findings arguing for more creative, community-engaged messaging to enact reproductive action in today’s post Dobbs world. This panel extends the belief that creative practices can advance reproductive changemaking. Featuring local art and reproductive activists, the panel discusses the current reproductive threats Wisconsinites face, identifies creative responses that foster community awareness on these issues, and invites opportunities for public participation. At the end of the panel, attendees will be invited to share their voice on these issues by participating in the “Garlands of Choice” ribbon activity hosted by the League of Women Voters of Milwaukee and the "Constellations: A collective Archive of Reproductive Experience” participatory project -- both featured in the exhibit. In a State of IF co-curator Maria Novotny will moderate the event, connecting reproductive justice to the exhibit’s focus on infertility.
*Potential panelists: Sara Finger (reproductive advocacy doula in WI), Reproductive Justice Action of Milwaukee, Dr. Charlie Gabler-Uhing (League of Women Voters), artist Niki Johnson, artist Nakesyha Roberts Washington, abortion provider at Care for All Ali Kliegman.
