Community and

Nonprofit Organization Training

Nonprofit organizations are uniquely positioned to provide voter registration and civic engagement support to those they serve. The League of Women Voters of Milwaukee County has implemented outreach to nonprofits to promote their involvement. The goal is to have nonprofits integrate voter registration and civic engagement into the mission and ongoing services of their organizations.

Nonprofit organizations can distribute voter registration and voting information and provide voter registration assistance. Nonprofits have computers and printers onsite and are able to assist those they serve obtain the necessary documents for proof of residence to register and proof of identity (photo ID) to vote.

LWVMC has produced a webinar in partnership with the Center for Public Skills Training, YWCA of Southeast Wisconsin, Southeast Asian Education Development, the City of Milwaukee Election Commission and a local attorney specializing in nonprofit law. We conduct monthly OVR trainings at public libraries throughout the City of Milwaukee for those interested in volunteering to help register voters with the League and for interested individuals from the community who we encourage to spread the word.
